Hi I'm BJ Elkington

I'm a college student who is working one day at a time to accomplish my dreams.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a farm and Ranch in Small town Idaho and I love the out doors.. I go to BYU-Idaho and i study special needs education and Physical education. I love My family and Friends. I love sports my goal one day is to be a coach. I also love music and i really would like to learn to play the guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of my testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Gospel. I personally Gained my testimony of Him and His Divine role as my Lord and Savior at the age of 18. I have seen His Atonement work in my life and the life of those who I am close too. I have seen individuals and families become truly happy and at peace with their life. I also have found the answer to life's greatest questions "Where did I come from"? "why am I here"? and "where am I going"? Knowing this gives me hope and brings peace as i live my daily life.

How I live my faith

I have served as a missionary for two years and i continue to live my faith by daily trying to live my life the best I can in a way that would be pleasing to the Lord. I have the opportunity to visit other brothers and sisters in the congregation to give them an uplifting message and check on their well being on a consistent basis.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

BJ Elkington
anyone is allowed to attend a "Mormon" church service, visitors are always welcome. A church service usually lasts 3 hours with a main chapel Meeting where the whole congregation meets together and hears talks prepared by members of the congregation who have been asked to speak that particular day. After the main meeting is followed by Sunday School which is divided by age level for the youth and combined for the adults. Following that meeting is usually a womens meeting called relief society where the sisters meet to discuss the gospel and help understand its application in there lives. At this same time there is a mens meeting which is divided by age that is applicable to the men of the congregation according to age. The totall meeting times = 3 hours Show more Show less
