Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a wife and mother of 3. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 5 children. I completed a bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Science before I got married and was able to do speech therapy for a year before we had our first child. Now we have 3 children who keep me very busy. I love sewing and crafts, finding healthy, safe recipes for my children who have food allergies, and learning how to become a homeschooling mom. When I have more time, I'd love to revisit my passions for singing, reading and spending more time outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, and chose to be baptized when I was 8 years old. But it wasn't until a few years later when I received very strong opposition to my belief that I knew I really needed to find out for myself if what I'd been taught all my life was true. I remembered the promise near the end of the Book of Mormon that states, "And when ye shall receive these things [The Book of Mormon], I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." I had faith that my prayers would be answered. As I studied and prayed and asked my Heavenly Father if it was true, I felt his love, peace and absolute reassurance that what I was reading was from Him, and that this was Christ's true church on the earth today. I have never doubted it. I know it's true.

How I live my faith

The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is a part of every aspect of my life. It is my life! We have personal and family prayer each morning and each night. We read from the scriptures together as a family each day. And after my husband leaves to work in the morning, I spend more time sharing stories from the scriptures with my children. I love teaching them how to pray and cultivating a desire in them to live like their Savior would want them to so that they can truly be happy in this life and the next. I don't know what I would do without all the help that a loving Heavenly Father has given us through His restored Gospel to help me in my different responsibilities, especially as wife and mother. The scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants), words from a living Prophet and Apostles, revelation through the Holy Ghost, and blessings/ordinances through the Priesthood. My life has meaning, purpose, and direction. And especially hope for the future! I have seen a lot of divorce in my life. My own family has "fallen apart" twice . But I have hope that I can have a strong, successful family because He's given us all the tools to do so. What a blessing our Heavenly Father has given us by restoring his true Church and Gospel!
