Hi I'm JaRee

I am studying at BYU-Hawaii. I grew up in Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. My major is Spanish. I don't quite know what I want to do with Spanish, but I know that for some reason I have this strong desire to learn the language. I have many hopes and dreams for my future. I want to take some time to go to South America and experience the language and culture first hand. I am a sister. I am the third child of eleven children, and sometimes it isn't the easiest. Especially when I am away from my family knowing that my siblings are growing up fast and I'm not there.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in church. So, since I was little I have been taught the principles of the Gospel. Even though I was raised up in the church and taught to act and think in specific ways there was a time in my life when I had to choose for myself; if I wanted, for myself, to continue in the ways or not. My father is a convert, and I am truly grateful for his conversion because without it I wouldn't have the knowledge that I do today. Living the Gospel brings peace into my life that I know cannot be found anywhere else. The Gospel is complete. The Spirit I feel from acting accordingly with the standards set brings such a delicious and desired peace to my soul. One thing that I am truly grateful for is prayer and knowing that we have a Heavenly Father that we can talk to when we feel sorrow, pain, or hurt. Our Heavenly Father wants us to talk with Him, just as any father would desire this of his own child. It has helped me many times throughout my life when I have felt lost or in darkness.

How I live my faith

How do I life my faith? by example. Being an older sister and having a lot of younger siblings means that they are constantly watching me. I pray that I have been an example to them and I hope that they are someone they can look to. Being someone who follows Christ is what I strive to do. Showing those around me that I care for them. I know sometimes I fail, because I am only human, but striving to live the example that Christ set for us is how I live my faith.
