Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a Mormon. I am a student of BYU- Hawaii currently studying Cultural Anthropology.

About Me

I am one of nine children in my family, 7 girls and 2 boys. I have lived in many places in the USA, including Texas, Georgia, California, Illinois, Idaho, and most recently Hawaii. I love to share my time with my family and my friends. Travel is a passion of mine and I love learning new things. I love all forms of art and expression and am currently pursuing a degree in Cultural Anthropology.

Why I am a Mormon

Some people believe that I am a Mormon only because I was born into it. At first that may have been true, but through careful study I have come to know that the gospel is true. The truth of it can permeate every aspect of your life if you let it. The gospel brings so much joy and happiness to my life, and I can feel the blessings of it every single day. I know that Heavenly Father loves me and that Jesus is the Christ and that his Atonement makes it possible for me to return to Heavenly Father. I love the gospel and know it is true. Faith is not an easy process, nothing truly worthwhile is, but once gained faith burns like a fire and blesses every aspect of my life. I love the church and it has truly changed my life. The blessings you receive are worth every trial and every sacrifice. Heavenly father truly loves each and every one of us. And he shows us this love through the gospel. I know the gospel is true and that Heavenly Father loves us and cares for us. The gospel brings innumerable blessings to my life and I can feel it every second of every day. I know Christ is my Savior, and that he loves us. Through the gospel we can receive so much hope, faith, and love for everyone around us. And through the gospel we can be together forever with our families.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through every action. You don't need to be perfect to be a member. None of us are. I have held many callings, which are jobs and ministries in the church, and each one has blessed my life, from being a children's teacher to being a door greeter on Sundays. I live the church each and every day, in little acts of service, to church assignments. Living your faith isn't just a Sunday job, it is in action every day of the week. I can live my faith in using kind words, reading my scriptures, helping those around me, and saying my prayers to my Heavenly Father. I live my Faith each and every day, and I can feel the blessings it gives me.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Sarah
Tithing goes to the building of churches and the support of church programs and humanitarian projects. It goes directly back to the members to help them and their congregations. No one is paid in the church and we all serve as volunteers. Tithing goes right to the church to benefit members. Show more Show less
