Hi I'm Dr. Scott Joseph Baker

I am an Upper Cervical Doctor of Chiropractic, I'm a husband of 18+ years and a father to 2 daughters & 3 sons and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mixed martial artist, motorcycle rider, skier, fishing and camping enthusiast! I'm an artist, a poet, and a musician too. I have a doctorate in chiropractic from Sherman College, a bachelor of science from St. Ambrose University, and an associates in arts & an associates in science from Scott Community college. I am an upper cervical doctor of chiropractic that specializes in Blair and Toggle techniques. I'm a father to 2 daughters and 3 sons all within the ages of 19 - 12 years old. I am a seeker of experiences, for most of my life I would try pretty much anything at least once to gain the experience. That has led me to play rugby in college which led to many local and national victories, volunteering as a fireman with experiences putting out house fires, car fires, forest fires, and many motor vehicle accidents too, vice president of GOP in my district giving me the opportunity to meet governors, senators, and even presidential hopefuls, martial arts student to fighter to instructor to promoter spanning 30 years, volunteering at youth ranch, volunteering with the boys scouts, and many callings in the church. No matter what I do I never give up! Never!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter-day Saint because of several well thought out and personal reasons, i will share some of the most important with you, 1) I have read the entire Book of Mormon and have fasted and prayed to know if it was true or not, and I have received a witness of the Holy Ghost that this book is truly the word of God spoken through His prophets of the past on this continent especially for us in these days in particular! 2) I have also read the entire Holy Bible, D&C, Pearl of Great Price, Torah, Dead Sea Scrolls, Nag Hammadi Scrolls, etc... I have found through the gift of the Holy Ghost the truth spoken in all of these scriptures and a consistent message from Heavenly Father that He loves us, He has a plan for us, and that He is very well organized and consistent in His teachings from the beginning of time. 3) I was raised catholic and had many questions about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, why I'm here, where am I going, etc... that the church couldn't answer, feelings I had about my relationship with Heavenly Father too, then I met some members of the LDS church who were able to answer those questions not only with words but with scriptural references too, that gave me a peace that lifted my soul! 4) I have researched and have visited multiple historical site of the prophet Joseph smith and I have no doubt that the young man did indeed see Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ in the sacred grove, that he did in fact get visited by several angels and prophets of old in help and preparation of the restoration of this church and the translation of the divine words in the Book of Mormon which testified the Jesus is the Christ and did in fact visit this continent and its inhabitants, and that Joseph Smith being a man, a great man, but in no way could have created this church by his own design, but surely guided by the Savior himself to prepare for His return, Joseph is a prophet, seerer, and revelator! I believe that with every once of my soul!

How I live my faith

Day by day, week by week! It is some what difficult to live higher standards than the society in which I reside, but through daily personal & family prayer and scripture study i find strength and stability and peace in my life. I am always ready and willing to serve in or out of the church which gives me such great joy in being able to help all of those around me by physical help or just listening to their problems. I have a structured home life with my family of church on Sundays, family home evening on Mondays, family fun night on Fridays, and date nights on Saturdays. We have sit down meals together almost ever evening with some or all of us. I try to do my home teaching too, by visiting families in or ward to share a spiritual message and just talk and get to know each other better. I listen to audios in my truck while I drive of spiritual, philosophical, and positive nature to help keep me focused on the things that are most important in my life. We keep pictures in our home of the temples to help remind us of our sacred covenants we made to our Heavenly Father. Being a Latter-day Saint is not a weekend job, it is a full-time 24/7 lifestyle! To be successful at anything in your life you must have a goal and a plan to reach that goal! You must surround yourself with those of like-minded goals to lift you up in times of need and be willing to reach out to those desiring to go were you are going, because you cannot keep what you are not willing to give away! Sharing the Gospel is truly the biggest and most enjoyable part of living my faith I do! Nothing brings me greater joy than sharing the hope and truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those in search of the truth! To see their lives turn around from despair to a life of hope, happiness, and peace! Life doesn't get easier when you know and commit to the truth, but it does get better! God knows you, God loves you, and God desires a personal relationship with you! Will you come unto Christ?
