Hi I'm Emily

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a great looking, red-headed, dental student who is the most fun person to be around on the planet, and makes me feel like a princess every day. I am the mother of 3 boys and love to connect with other mothers of boys and learn how they enjoy the journey and how they occasionally repair the drywall. I would be happy to spend all day reading children's literature and coloring in a coloring book. I have a BA in Graphic Communications and I enjoy using my creative abilities to further the work of the Lord. My greatest passion outside of church and family is chocolate - specifically dark chocolate. I love good food and think bruschetta is something I could never tire of. I enjoy the outdoors and treasure family camp outs. My garden is a place where I feel happy. Color is an important part of my life and influences everything. I love family history work and I'm earnestly searching for my Irish ancestors. I love to share the gospel and the knowledge that families are forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read the Book of Mormon and have come to a knowledge that it is true. I first felt the Spirit speak to my soul as I sat in the Carthage Jail where the first prophet of this dispensation was martyred. I knew (and know) that this was a man who died having given everything to do the Lord's work in restoring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth again. I am a Mormon because this gospel brings to me the blessings of Heaven. Within this gospel, are the doctrines of eternal families, the priesthood authority restored, and a knowledge of a heavenly father that we lived with before our time on Earth. I know that Heavenly Father loves us, that he has a plan for us, and that he has given us a savior in Jesus Christ so we can return to live with Him. I have used the atonement in my life and felt the blessings of repentance and forgiveness. I have tested the principles of this gospel and have found them to be true and for our benefit. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it is the true and living church of our Savior in its fullness, and it offers me the blessings of eternity.

How I live my faith

I currently enjoy serving in the largest women's organization in the world. I find a fellowship and a sisterhood as I serve with women who carry the light of Christ with them. I have felt the love of the Lord as I have received service from many of my fellow sisters. Their Christlike examples inspire me and challenge me to make a difference in the lives of others. Wherever I go, this church is the same - always offering a family of brothers and sisters who teach me by example and help me to become more like Heavenly Father.

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is the largest sisterhood on Earth. It is an organization in which I participate in service, learning, and fellowship. The Relief Society creates for me a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose. Through Relief Society, I am blessed by the examples of strong courageous women. I learn how they have overcome great trials and I lean on those sisters through my own trials. We bear each others burdens and find strength in the gospel of Jesus Christ. The sisters of Relief Society are taught to seek after all that is good and to do good continually. Because Relief Society is a worldwide organization, I know that wherever I go, I will have sisters to love me and help me stay on a path back home to Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
