Hi I'm Rex King

I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Rex. I'm 22 years old and I'm studying to become an electrical engineer at Brigham Young University. Maryland is my home, but I love Europe because I spent a good portion of my childhood growing up in Germany and Bulgaria. I returned years later and served a mission for the church in the countries of Greece and Cyprus. My hobbies include running, Ultimate Frisbee, and reading. I'm a pretty big nerd and love Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both members of the church when I was born, so I have seen their excellent examples my entire life. They centered their lives around the teachings of Jesus Christ and it brought so much love into our home. Because of them and other fine people, I realized that I could offer the light to other people when I follow our Savior. I believe in the Book of Mormon in addition to the Bible and I believe that as I try to follow the teachings of the prophets, we can eventually return to live with our heavenly father.

How I live my faith

There are a lot of commandments and guidelines I follow as a Mormon to try to live a life more centered on Jesus Christ, but I think the most important way to live my faith is by how I interact with and think other people. We believe that everyone is a child of God, so I try to live my faith by treating everyone as such. I'm by no means perfect at this, but I do try. I serve in the church as a home teacher, which is something that I love. For this responsibility, we visit members of the congregation to check up with them to make sure that they are doing well and provide them with service and try to help them spiritually in any way we can. I truly love this responsibility and I feel that it has been a great way for me to learn to treat everyone the way that Jesus would.
