Hi I'm Nimrod

I grew up in San Diego, California. I attended SDSU and commissioned into the US Army as an Air Defense officer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Air Defense officer in the US Army and some time ago I started a new journey that has changed my life. Back in September 2010 I started running - really running. I have always sort of ran here and there but never devoted time just to it. In September 2010 I started off with a half hour of running a day for a week then each week would bumped it up five minutes until I reached an hour of running. My running an hour each day six days a week really made me lose weight I was wanting to lose. Because I was deployed at the time I just focused all my free time on exercise and eating correctly. From the time I started this journey back in September 2010 I have lost lots of weight and have become a much better runner. I ran my first marathon in October 2011 and finished in 3:35. Not bad for a guy over 40 and just starting into running.

Why I am a Mormon

Every day we are bombarded with choices some easy some hard. The teachings of Jesus Christ in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has given me the ability to make good wise choices.

How I live my faith

I love to see and talk with the other members of the church each week because this gives me added strength to do what is right. Because I am in the military, I get the unique pleasure of seeing the church in many different places. This has been fun as we have lived in Italy, Germany, California, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas.
