Hi I'm Wes

I'm a Philosophy student at BYU, I love writing and watching movies, and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I am the product of a Latina mother and a Utahn father. The second of four kids. Raised in the city of Spanish Fork. I graduated from High School in 2011 to appease society. I enjoy skateboarding, running, and obsolete technology. I'm a philosophy major until further notice. I did 4.5 years as a vegetarian. Actualmente soy misionero de la Iglesia, asignado a Anaheim, California.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized "Mormon" at the age of 8. A few years ago I began to struggle with my relationship with God and my testimony of the Church. I rejected the idea that God could be known by anyone. I have always felt the need to question everything. This need led me to eventually search for the answers to my questions concerning God. Once I started sincerely seeking answers with faith and prayer, I was guided to the testimony that I now have. I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father, that we are His children, and that this Church is His kingdom on the earth.

How I live my faith

Every day I try to be a little bit more like Christ.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a man who lived in the early 19th Century. As a boy he looked for the church which Christ had created. He was prompted by a verse of scripture from the Bible to ask God for help. After praying to God for answers he was answered directly by God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Through Joseph Smith the original church of Christ was brought back to the earth. What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons believe that the Bible is the word of God and is sacred and Holy Scripture. However we recognize that God's words are not limited to a single book. God has spoken to all of His Holy Prophets since the beginning of the world. What He has spoken they have written and what they have written is scripture. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Every living soul is made up of an eternal spirit and a physical body. The body is called a temple because it is the home of our individual spirit while we live on the earth. They are mutually affected by what we eat, see, think and do. We show our respect for God and ourselves by the way we treat our bodies. Show more Show less
