Hi I'm Ian Schwallier

I grew up in Michigan. I love making people smile. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love singing in choirs, and with my friends for fun. I earned my Eagle Scout, and enjoy serving my community. I like running cross-country, and talking with my friends. I work with electronics and technology. I am studying electrical engineering at college. But most importantly, I am currently serving as a missionary for two years in the California Irvine Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life, but I have had my own experiences, which have led me to believe in the truthfulness of the gospel. I fasted and prayed, and read my scriptures to know that the teachings of this gospel are true. I have had to find it out for myself, not just from my parents. My family is very important to me, and my parents teach me so much truth. I want to raise my family with the same understanding of the truth that I have. My father baptized me when I turned eight; I had the blessing of baptizing my younger brother when he turned 8, too. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ restored to the Earth, and I am thankful for the Atonement in my life. It helps me to know that I can be forgiven when I make mistakes, which makes it possible for me to live with my Heavenly Father again. I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times, and prayed for myself to know of its truth. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and if it were not so, he could not have translated the Book of Mormon. I testify that Jesus Christ is resurrected, and lives. I know that He loves us, and wants us to follow His teachings. The Gospel makes sense to me, and makes more sense than any other teachings I have heard. I love my Savior. I love my family. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I chose to take two years of my life, and devote that time to serve my Savior, Jesus Christ. During that time, I am teaching other people what I know, and how much joy that knowledge has brought me in my life. I show my faith by my example--I live what I believe. I know that families can live forever together by living God's commandments. This knowledge has inspired me to share that wonderful message with everyone! Much of what I do is service for others. I help teach the young men, and encourage them to follow God's commandments. I enjoyed visiting the widows in my branch and hearing their stories as I teach them in their homes. I while I was at home, I passed and blessed the sacrament in church. I still assist with the sacrament whenever I can, because I know it is so sacred and important.
