Hi I'm Douglas Dow

I joined the Army at 17 and have been around the world, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father. I have served my God, family and country for the past 20 years in the Army. I started in the Army as a medic. I continued to learn and grow. I am now a Physician Assistant. I have been able to enlist my son in the service and continue to try and be a good example of following the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I have studied the scriptures, I search them diligently. I have prayed about what is in them. I have asked for the personal revelation to the truth that the Lord would have me know. I testify to all that I know the scriptures are true, that the true church of Christ must be led by a living prophet and that it is. I know by that wonderful still small voice of the Spirit of the truth of the gospel and that we are given the gospel by a living God. I know that the work of Joseph Smith was divinely guided and that he was a true prophet of God. These are things that I know to be true, for I have tested them as prompted in the scriptures. I have prayed and studied and asked for the knowledge to be known. I know that anyone who reads the scriptures with the intent to learn what the Lord would have us know will come to their own conclusions. I cannot deny the power of the Spirit. I sincerely pray that this generation will open their hearts and minds to the Spirit, that all may come to know the Lord God. My faith in God has never failed me and has kept me safe and enabled me to go to parts of this world that are not so nice. It has sustained me through trials, it has kept me hopeful in times of separation due to service to my country. I am grateful for all that He has given me and continues to bless my family with. My hope is to always be a worthy servant to Him. I am the happiest when I am serving Him.

How I live my faith

I love sharing the gospel and talking of Christ and all he has done for us is my favorite thing to do. I am grateful for every calling I have had and still struggle to be the best I can be. I have taught the youth, the EQ, and Sunday school when ever asked. I am excited about the gospel and love to share that excitement.
