Hi I'm Shara-Dee

I grew up in a small town in Arizona. I have to have a project going at all times! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a large family, which keeps me plenty busy when I'm in the states. Right now my husband and I are on our 3rd mission, this time in Indonesia. We are here to support a small branch of the Church and to help train the leaders. When I'm home, I love to quilt, read and enjoy friends, and of course, family. I struggle to like regular exercising, but I haven't given up :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in an LDS family, but my parents were not very actively involved in church activity. As a teenager I had to investigate and learn on my own about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was during those years that I received a witness that Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet who restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I learned to love the Book of Mormon. I also had many opportunities to gain a testimony of the living prophet who leads the Church today.

How I live my faith

I can't think of a better way to live my faith than to leave my family and go on a mission to a foreign country! Our first mission experience was in the Democratic Republic of Congo for 2 years. We also returned there to help with a humanitarian effort to eradicate measles. We served a mission in Salt Lake City, helping people find their ancestors in the Family History Mission. Now we are in Indonesia for 18 months. What a great country! I have served in the Church since I taught Sunday School at age 17. When I'm home in Arizona, I love to volunteer in the Family History Center in Mesa, Arizona. I've served in the community on a Foster Care Review Board, which made me so grateful for the way I was raised and the righteous choices my children are making. I love the feelings of peace that come from my study of the scriptures and attendance at church. I truly love my Heavenly Father and love serving him.
