Hi I'm Matt

Hi my name is Matt, I LOVE sports, I love being outdoors, especially in the mountains. I grew up in a big family and i'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a family of ten, I have four brothers and four sisters which was actually great for me because they are all older so I pretty much had the run of things! Really though, growing up with a big family was awesome, I learned how important family is and that is why this faith means so much to me, I know that my family is eternal which means that we will be together again even after we die. I love spending time with my family especially if that is hiking or fly fishing. My faith is not a one day a week thing for me, it is who I am, it is why I think the way I do and helps me get through every day. It gives me a purpose to my life and also lets me know that this life is only a stepping stone to something even greater, I don't know where I would be without it.

Why I am a Mormon

I wondered why I was Mormon for a long time when I was younger, it took me a long time to realize that the way I was thinking about it was all wrong, I decided I needed to know for myself it was true. It took a lot of effort but I found out for myself that our Savior Jesus Christ really has taken all our sins from us and if we but repent we can be forgiven for those sins. The way this church makes me feel is the main reason why I love it so much, you can just feel the love and the power of the people around you and how supportive they are.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by holding to the "Iron Rod" as the analogy goes in the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. This means that I hold onto the word of God, I follow his teachings and I listen closely to his prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I know that believing simply is not enough, but that we must also ACT on what we know, as the bible states "Faith without Works is dead", I live my faith and in doing so I try to share it with others. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith was called by God to restore his Church after it was lost shortly after the close of Jesus Christ's mortal ministry. I know that Joseph Smith was inspired by God to translate the Book of Mormon and with that knowledge I also know that he has restored Christ's original church onto the earth again, the name of this church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, if you are not a member of this church I encourage you to find out more about and find the truth and blessings that I have found in my own life because of it.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Matt
Missionaries go out and proselyte because we believe that we are all children of God. We know that our message is unique and that it can provide the guidance all of our brothers and sisters need in order to return back to live with our Heavenly Father again. As they serve they get the unique experience to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ truly bless the lives of the people they serve as they bear testimony of the things they have come to know to be true.
