Hi I'm Jaden Quintrequeo

I love stories, I love music, I love pineapples, I am a missionary, people call me 'Q' because of my last name, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an amateur novelist, a future Engineer, and the oldest of five siblings. I grew up in Ogden Utah I spent my days playing video games, rock climbing, going to school, reading, writing, and hanging out with my friends and family. After graduating high school I attended a year at Weber state university, after which I worked on and off full time jobs saving up for a mission. I am currently looking for a job after serving a mission and i am hoping to hit the ground running. I can see all the paths opening up before me, the gospel has helped me recognize my potential and now I have found that there are so many things that I can to do. I want to travel and discover what the world has to show me, art, culture, languages, and people. I want to go to school to be a high school teacher for art and creative writing/english. I look forward to the adventures ahead and all of the experiences left to had. And I know with the gospel in my front pocket and God on my side I can accomplish all the things that he has planned for me. My home is in my Saviors bosom and no matter where I go, or who I'm with I can always rely on Him. He is my safety, He is my hope, He has given me passion.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense, there are answers here to questions i didn't even know i had. I have found more happiness following the standards of the gospel and living its principles than by doing anything else. I know that I have a Loving Heavenly Father and he loves me, he is continually mindful of me and has let me know in so many ways that He is there and this is where I need to be. I was born in the church but I wasn't brainwashed or indoctrinated. I am a God fearing man because I walked the Hard path to finding Him on my own. This Is His gospel, I Know because I tried it, I lived it and found out for myself. It has given me things I have never found anywhere else and I rely on it for my every breath. I am a Mormon because This is Where I found Him and it is the place I have always felt His Presence. I read the Book of Mormon, I've studied it and it made sense, I have prayed about it and I got my answer. He talked to me, testified of the truths of the gospel because He loves me, me of all people. and you know what it change me, His love Changed me it gave me reason, purpose, ambition, and hope. This is where I can be nearest to God and that is where I Want to be! That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As for right now I am just excited to be alive and get to do what I do. The gospel has changed me and still changes me, it breathes passion and adventure into my life. Even when that adventure turns out to be trials I know that the Savior always has my back. It is fun and it is exciting, as soon as you forget that cliche 'that this stuff is boring' it becomes you. Life is a joyous spectacle that lifts and spins at every turn, instead of dwelling in storms you fly through them, the hail of Hell still beats down on you like always but you find yourself sailing through them with almost greater experiences to be had. Don't get me wrong I still crash land more times than I care to count but stretching your wings and starting back up again is just another adventure to be had. I once said that if Jesus himself asked me to get up one day and leave everything behind, I would do it in a heartbeat. As a result I have finished serving a full time LDS mission and have given up two years of my life in service to Him. And with Jesus as my co-pilot this is just one more adventure to be had and another story to tell.

What is the priesthood?

Jaden Quintrequeo
The priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. It has been seen throughout time most notably in the prophets of the bible; including the prohpets in the Old testiment and the desciples in the new testiment. To name a few: Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Mattew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul. We also know that even though there were many priesthood holders in the Bible we know the the Book of Mormon starts off with Priesthood holders, namely the Prophet Lehi who was a prophet at the same time as the prophet Jeremiah. Shortly after a few of his very sons also become Prophets, and time and again prophets and men of worth show them throughout the Book of Mormon and are called to preach or to lead the people according to God's will. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Jaden Quintrequeo
We do not worship Joseph Prophet, we worship God our eternal father and our saviour Jesus Christ. we acknowledge Joseph Smith as a prophet called of God and show our respect and hold him in reverence just as the prophets of old. We do not worship him anymore than you or your friends and family worship Moses who parted the red sea, Adam the first father or first man on earth, John the baptist who preached about and Baptized the Saviour, John the Beloved who still walkes the earth to teach and bring men unto christ, the Apostle Paul who was converted from a time of personal termoil, etc... We merely hold these men in great respect and follow their teachings that we understand come from God our loving heavenly father. We know that Joseph Smith was an instrument in gods hands like so many of the men from the Bible, and just as we believe Moses through faith and the power of God parted the mighty waters of the Red Sea so that he was able to save his people, We Believe Joseph, through that same power, was able to restore the church of Christ to this earth and through him translating with the power of God we recieved the Book of Mormon. Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Jaden Quintrequeo
Usually people will call the church a cult because it differs from mainstream Christianity, and because of all the bold claims we make. People who call the church a cult often lack knowledge from their own opinion and merely believe the rumors and propaganda spread by those who oppose the church. On of the ways in which we differ is that we do not believe in the creeds made by man in a time when nobody really knew what they believed and had to lay down a decision based on every philosophy ever conceived up to that point to sooth the pride of men. We as latter day saint know what we believe it is plain and simple the character of the godhead for example, the Nicene creed dictates many confusing and backward words and ideas making the true character of the godhead easily lost to the concepts of man. We as Latter-day Saints make no such attempt to conceptualize the character of the Godhead or the "Holy Trinity". We believe without mixing words or adding flowery details to sooth the pride of the world that the Godhead is infinitely simple compared to the creeds of men. That God our Loving Heavenly Father, Jesus the Christ and Son of God, and the Holy Spirit are three distinct and separate beings, and that God and Christ have their own glorified and perfected bodies. However they are One in purpose, intent, righteousness, glory, etc. This plain and simple truth and others like it offend, for one reason or another, those who soon retaliate with harsh ignorant words such as Cult. What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Jaden Quintrequeo
We are 100% Saved by Grace and don't let anyone tell you different. Christ suffered and died for us so that we may live again. However, there is a difference between 'Salvation' and inheriting 'Eternal Life'. Salvation is for all men but Eternal life is only for those who want it enough to earn it. Salvation is happiness, Eternal life is happiness in the Presence of God with our families and loved ones forever. Because of Grace we are saved from our sins, however God cannot reward an act never done. we will all be resurrected and we will stand before God and account for what we have done. Salvation is great you will be happy however we shoot for a higher goal and in order to attain it you actually have to do something. This life was not giving to us so we could be slackers, it was giving to us so we could be achievers, adventurers, and ultimately a family. Mostly God just wants us to choose to serve him and act upon it and in this simple concept is the essence of attaining Eternal Life. As well as the concept of no good deed goes overlooked or unrewarded. God and the Savior laid laws and set examples for us to follow, but God will not force anyone into to Heaven. Show more Show less
