Hi I'm Marian

I'm a Mormon. I am a mother and wife. I love my family, music, children, going on walks and the gospel.

About Me

I have always loved children and music. We have been blessed with 13 children, 12 of whom are living. As a family we play musical instruments and have performed together. My husband and I started a community orchestra and choir that has performed the Messiah by Handel for 33 years. It is the highlight of our Christmas season to sing and play with members of our community that we love in praises to our Savior. Since we have 10 boys, we have loved doing scouting together. All of our boys earned their Eagle Scout award. It was a wonderful program to participate in together. I enjoy walking for exercise and my favorite walk is currently up a steep hill to the temple. Some of our children do triathalons and enjoy other races together. I also teach music and movement to children-ages 18 months-6 years of age. I love the little children dance and play rhythm instruments and enjoy doing music as a family. I love serving others and that is one of my favorite hobbies! We love sharing the gospel and 11 of our children have served or are serving missions. My husband and I will also be leaving soon to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! It is not a church for me. It is the way I choose live my everyday life. I want to daily share my testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel by the life I live. We had a daughter who passed away as an infant. We love her dearly and she is still a very important part of our family because she is eternally sealed to us. Although she is not living with us here on earth, we know that she is part of our family and is often close to us. The gospel is part of every thought and every step and every decision that I make. I love the Savior and I am deeply grateful for His Atonement. It allows me hope of being able to "change" and to become refined. We have our challenges. But because of Jesus Christ I have a "brightness of hope". I want to share that with others. I am grateful for the sacrifice of my ancestors and know that many of the blessings I enjoy are because of their sacrifice and commitment to the gospel. When I pass away, all that I will leave my posterity will be my testimony, my faith and my example.

How I live my faith

Each day I pray to know who needs service that day. I love serving my family and being with them. They are amazing! Sometimes I feel impressed to visit with some people who are part of my church stewardship. It is a joy to serve in the nursery and to help the children feel the spirit in these tender years as they attend church. I love writing notes of encouragement and gratitude to others. Gratitude is a sacred gift that helps us recognize Heavenly Father's blessings. I enjoy recording in my journal how I observed the hand of the Lord in the details of my life. I love serving in the temple and in my church callings. Each week I visit with a friend who suffered an accident some years ago. It has has left her without physical eyesight and unable to walk or do some of the things she used to enjoy doing. I always leave feeling the spirit. I enjoy sharing my testimony through music. Music is the language of the soul. It is a spiritual experience for me to share my testimony by participating in the Messiah or by playing at a funeral or in a church meeting. I am looking "living" my testimony of Jesus Christ each day.
