Hi I'm Jesse

I'm a Mormon. I am a convert from a Baptist Church. Was raised in Baptist Church and belived in Christ at a young age.

About Me

I was raised in a Baptist Church; my mother took me when younger. Belived in Christ at a young age. Attended church when out of high school. Married young and wife and I both went to Baptist Churches. Served in the United States Air Force. Flew airplanes for a living until health turned; went to working on them for the next 25 years before retiring. Have two children, took them to church too. Have taught Sunday School and was licensed by a Southern Baptist Church to preach the gospel. Have worked with youth, 11 to 17 year olds, in past years. I was a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America for seven years. Have started three Awana clubs. Now that I am older, I only work as a Cubmaster for our Ward; 8, 9 &10 year old boys. Teach older alduts in care home monthly and teach Sunday School about once a quater. I am a cancer suvior; colon. Wife and I are very active and like to travel. Have one 10 year old Chow Chow to care for. That little fellow saved my life; but that's another story for another time.

Why I am a Mormon

After teaching and preaching from the Holy Bible for many years, I began to see that most Baptist Churches seem to look at the scruptures in different ways. Each church seems to deside what they want to believe. I was in a Southern Baptist Church, and severial churches, for about 12 years. Their way of looking at the Bible seemed to be chosen by a committe. I saw some menbers living ungodly lives and were directing the affairs of their church. This did not seem correct according to what God has been telling His people. I began to question my belief about the Bible and God. When I really did look at just what I, and my wife, believed, we found that it was in line with the Mormon belief. As one of the missionaies said, "Brother Jesse, you have been a Mormon for a long time; you just didn't know it."

How I live my faith

I try to obey what I know Heavenly Father is telling me. I attend my Ward meetings each week. I have found that I do have something I can do for my God no matter how old I am. I work with the Cubscouts in my Ward. I teach Sunday School about once a quater. I am willing to be helpfull to others. Now if you look closly at this, you will see a lot of "I's" in there. 'I can do all things through Christ who gives me the strength.' That's where the "I" should be; on Him.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Jesse
I am out of the age group of 19 to 21, but I can still serve by working with the missonaries assigned to my Ward. You will never be too old to serve Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
