Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a student, wife, and teacher.

About Me

I am a student at a university studying to become a teacher. I spend half my day at an elementary school as a team teacher for a kindergarten class. In the afternoons and evenings I attend classes, and study in the library on campus. My husband goes to school full time, and is studying Accounting. In my spare time I love to try new recipes out, and update our family blog.

Why I am a Mormon

It is comforting to me to know that I am going to be with my family and Heavenly Father again as I keep His commandments, and strive to become more Christlike here in this life. I know that I have a loving Father in Heaven that has provided me a way to come back to Him. I believe that I am here on earth to learn and grow, and through that become perfected through Jesus Christ. I know that I am a divine daughter of God, and that I have a specific purpose here on earth. My family is very important to me, I want to be with them forever. I know that through the sealing power I can be with them even after death. I love that I will always be with my husband because we chose and were worthy to be sealed to one another in the holy temple. I know that Jesus Christ came to this earth, and that through the scriptures, latter-day revelation, and personal promptings we can learn of Him, and how to become more like Him.

How I live my faith

We meet every Sunday and have what we call Sacrament Meeting. During that meeting we partake of the sacrament, sing hymns, and teach one another through talks given by members. I have the privilege to play the organ while members sing hymns. When we sing hymns it brings a feeling of love, peace, and happiness. My husband and I study the Book of Mormon, and Bible nightly to remind us of the covenants we have made to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We also are reminded of our purpose in this life, and find strength in the examples of those who have gone before us that have testified in those books. It helps our marriage to grow stronger every time we read and study these books. We also pray together daily. We take turns offering a prayer of gratitude for the blessings we have received, and ask for help and strength in the things we are struggling with or need.
