Hi I'm Rhonda

I'm a Mormon. I am a Single Mother. I work in In Home health mostly with Older and Disabled people.

About Me

I am a single mother, I work in health care. I come from a household where the very mention of church could lead to arguments. I had a hard time believing I was worthy of God. My hobbies include raising my son working raising my son and raising my son. I like to read if I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I was sitting one day praying and asking God where he thought my son and I belonged, which church. Right after I closed my prayer the missionaries were knocking at my door. At first I didn't want to listen, I wanted to play devils advocate with them. As we began talking what they said just made sense. I prayed every day and read the Book of Mormon a couple times. I felt that the Book of Mormon put things into a better perspective than reading the Bible had done, but only if used in conjunction with the Bible. The more I studied the more I became sure that I was on the right path. I was first attracted by the closeness I saw in the families and I wanted that for my small families, but i came to know it was so much more. The Mormon people are honest trustworhy faithful people who are willing to help and don't judge me for my situation in life. I find that the more I study and live the scriptures the closer I feel to Heavenly Father, I learn how important He is to my life. I have personal knowledge through prayer and study that The Book of Mormon was given to us by Heavenly Father as a supplement to the Bible, the Church was given to help us grow closer to Him and by living His commandments one day I will live with Him again.

How I live my faith

I attend meetings regularly. We have cooking classes that are not only for members, but are member based, they are helpful in socializing with other female members of the church. I help arrange events for the women of the church. I work on family history and indexing. I read my scriptures, have family prayer, family home evening and try to keep my mind and heart turned toward Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I try to keep my focus toward Him and not myself, so the things I do are not for my end but His.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

During personal prayer When we address Heavenly Father, the Holy Spirit gives us knowledge that Heavenly Father is there. Every time I have ever prayed, I have felt peace and love surround me and lift me up. I look outside and watch the way the birds fly in formation, I look at the shapes and colors of the clouds in early morning and late eveining. I see God's hand in all these things. When I see my son I know that God is alive, there is no randomness in the creation of all living things, human, beast or plant, all show the blueprint designed by God. Show more Show less
