Hi I'm David

I was born and raised in South Carolina. I am a newlywed and a basketball enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a South Carolina native. I recently fell in love with and married a beautiful girl here in the Palmetto State. I love the outdoors whether it be on the beach throwing frisbee or in the mountains hiking and eating foil-packs! I play, study, coach, watch and teach the game of basketball on a daily basis. I love spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where the principles and teachings of Jesus Christ and His gospel were taught and lived. Being 1 of 7 kids our family had it's fair share of hardships and struggles. From an early age I was able to see that living the gospel of Jesus Christ didn't take away your trials, rather it gave the perspective and strength to overcome and endure. I am a Mormon because I know that our Heavenly Father loves us. That he gave us His son Jesus Christ so that we might repent and be able to return to live with Him. On this Earth our Savior lived a perfect life. He gave us a perfect example to follow. He taught and performed principles and ordinances to help us become more like Him and to purify ourselves so that we can live with Him once more. He died on the cross, but was resurrected. He lives. He has restored His church with all the principles and ordinances He originally taught. He has called a prophet in our day to guide us and He continues to give revelation through that prophet to help us return to His presence.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to treat everyone as a child of God. The game of basketball allows me to work with young people almost everyday. I try to be a good example to the people that I come in contact with and be a positive influence in their lives. I try to help them see that we are a product of the decisions that we make everyday. When we include our Heavenly Father in the decisions that we make, our lives gain so much more meaning and we can look forward with more hope for the future. As you may know, there are several missionaries that are assigned to work here in the Myrtle Beach area. My responsibility is to help these missionaries to teach the gospel to anyone and everyone that is interested in learning more about our Savior. I help coordinate rides that they may need and go to lessons that they teach. I also help the new members of the church as they continue to learn and grow. I try to be better each day than I was the day before.
