Hi I'm Cheyenne Rivers

I'm a writer, photographer, reader. Called to serve in the Florida Tampa Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 6 sibling- 4 little sisters, and 2 little brothers. I love reading, writing, and helping people the best I can. Service is one of the things I feel I do best, especially when people are opening up to me. It gives me the best feeling in the world to help people, and I love it. I just received my mission call to the Florida Tampa Mission and can't wait to begin my service there!

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member my entire life, mostly because my parents are members. I've gained a testimony for myself, now that I'm older. I love the Church and the Gospel, though. It's the one thing that's been constant in my life, and it keeps me together. I know the Church is true, and that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and is a true Prophet of God.

How I live my faith

I teach Primary in my ward. I love working with the Valiant 9 class, they are such sweet spirits. I love the role I play. I like helping people out with their children and do service activities.

How does the Church finance its operations?

Cheyenne Rivers
The Church finances its operations through tithing. Members of the church pay 10% of their income to the church, and that goes toward making temples and church buildings and helping people that need it. It's a blessing, not a burden. People that pay tithing, myself included, have seen miracles happen when they need it most. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Cheyenne Rivers
No. Most of what we do as Mormons is to help those who are not Mormon. As a church we've donated a lot of money and provided assistance to those in need. A lot of the members who help and serve throughout the world are our missionaries, who give 18 months to 2 years of their life to serve Heavenly Father, teach those who are not Mormon about the gospel, and serve those in need.
