Hi I'm Rogers

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a grandfather of 16 and a father of 4. My life, i went to college at BYU and graduated from Arizona State University. I majored in college in marketting and worked in that profession for 40 years. I was born of goodly parents and their parents were mormon also except for one grandfather, who later joined the church. I grew up on a ranch in Northern Arizona. I enjoyed the ranching working with cattle and horses. We had the old style ranch where we had every type of animal, where their uses were for food and clothing. The lifestyle was different, we had no indoor plumbing or running water, we carried water from the town in 10 gallon cans for drinking water. We used an irrigation canal for needs such as washing clothes or watering the garden. We didn't have electricity until i was 13 years old. It was kind of a unique lifestyle to people now a days at least. I married a wonderful woman and i've been with her for over 45 years now and its been great!

Why I am a Mormon

When i was a young child, I learned to read because i was a sickly child and spent about two years flat on my back in bed, so i learned to read at a young age, I got into reading alot about the gospel itself. Scriptures, family histories that were inspiring. So thats the roots of my testimony, studying and reading at a young age and feeling the spirit. My mother who was always nearby, she was there for referrance and for help since I was only between 4-6 at that time when I was laying in bed. It created a whole atmosphere for me which helped me gain a testimony at a very young age. So my testimony started there and just grew and grew, i've always been open minded. I can't say there was one moment where i found my testimony through the many experiences that I had. In 1963 I went on a mission to the northern States which centered in Chicago Illinois. I had the privilege of leading other people to the gospel and that helped build my testimony in and of itself. Later in life when i got married, it was a confusing time for me because family was torn between how religious they wanted to be so everyone had different expectations of me, so that resulted in building my testimony even more because I had to make some decisions to follow God or not. and i chose to follow God. It has blessed my life ever since.

How I live my faith

In the church i've served as a ward missionary, and I've done alot of service for the community. I help organize and teach classes when people can be at church to fill their assignments. I've always enjoyed missionary work and sharing this message with others.
