Hi I'm Li, Tsz Kin

I'm a Mormon and the return missionary of my Church. I am studying at Brigham Young University- Hawaii now..

About Me

I am from the China Hong Kong. Photography, singing, reading books, watching movie, and playing sports are my hobbies. My parents have only one child, it's me. However, I am majoring International Cultural Studies with political science minor at the Brigham Young University - Hawaii, and get a part - time job in the Polynesian Cultural Center as a waiter. I was serving mission as the representative of the Church for last couple years in Hong Kong and Macau.

Why I am a Mormon

I seemed the Book of Mormon as a fairy tale in my childhood, and my dad loved to share the stories from it before I went to bed. My parents took me to the Church, and they asked me to pray and read with them. Nevertheless, I did not seem to believe the teachings of the restored gospel and suspect the divinity of this book. Some people even said that the book was fictitiously created. Seven years ago, one of the important people in my life who bore her testimony of the Restoration to the congregation. Her testimony was simple, but it was spiritual, enlightening, uplifting. That sister was the three years convert, and I attended Church meetings more than ten years, but I did not experience that feeling before. After inquiring the truth in my mind and reading the Book of Mormon, there was a verse from the Bible, which appeared in my mind, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (James 1:5)” I kneeled down and prayed to ask our Eternal Father about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. Hereafter, I felt the answer from the Holy Ghost as one of the prophets described, “Your bosom shall burn within you.” I have already read the Book of Mormon several times, and I am still reading it. I read the whole book page by page. There are 6,607 verses in the book, and 3,925 verses, which are describing the Savior and His mission. From the bottom of my heart and by the power of the Holy Ghost, I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I also testify that it is another Testament of Jesus Christ. I also testify the Bible and the Book of Mormon, which do not against each other, but testify and support each other. I exhort you to read and ponder about the teachings of this book, and pray to our God with the sincere heart and have faith to act according to the answer. By the fruits of the Book, “ye shall know them.” In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

As a Christian, I read the scriptures everyday to seek the personal revelation from God. I kneel down to pray and communicate to my Father in Heaven. Bishop, the area leader of the Church, assigns me to serve as a Sunday School Instructor and a counselor in the Sunday school presidency in Brigham Young University- Hawaii. In my callings, I need to prepare lessons for the members, attend Sunday school presidency meeting, participate leadership training, and observe lessons. We don't believe these are the personal recognition, but there are the service opportunities to our God and our fellowmen. As Jesus said, "And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:27-28)" The matter most is to invite others to come unto Christ, so people will know Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer who atones for our sins. He invites all of us to drink the living water.
