Hi I'm Jason

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of two young boys. My favorite things to do are; spend time with my wife and boys, the boys and I rough house a lot and drive mom up the wall, I grew up playing a lot of sports and right now volleyball is my weekly sport of choice, I also spend a fair amount of time working with wood in the garage.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up around the church, if not always attending regularly. I never saw myself as being a very active church person though out my life. Towards the end of high school I decided to make a better effort to attend regularly even when the rest of the family did not. During a spring break about the same time I took a challenge to read the Book of Mormon in a single week. It really helped me to read it that quickly so I could get a better overall understanding of the book. It helped give context to the stories and verses I heard on Sundays. The more I committed myself to the things I was learning, the more I was convinced that these things were truly from God. I was becoming a better person because of them.

How I live my faith

I served a two year mission for the church in Chile. In the eight or so years since returning, I have gone to school at BYU, gotten married in the Temple, and served in several different callings. I have struggled through many of the same problems as other people. Marriage and children are not easy. My career has not gone very smoothly in our current economy. While it is pretty easy to go to church on Sundays, putting in a whole hearted effort through out the week is not. But I keep going and making the effort. My happiest times are when everything is in balance. Balance does not mean easy though. Balanced means I am working and progressing in the various aspects of my life.
