Hi I'm Shayne Jackson

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Montana and raised in Utah. I'm a small town, farm boy.

About Me

I love the outdoors. I go camping, hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing when I can. I also enjoy reading a good book and learning things. I thirst for knowledge. I will be serving a mission in Guatemala for two years starting April 18, 2012. I plan on becoming a doctor when I get back.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. I went along just doing what I was told. I never really knew if I had a testimony until I was about 18. I finally decided to find out for myself if the church was really true or not. Through circumstances of my own doing, I was far from being sinless and pure. I had an issue with pride, and I had a hard time being humbled. Finally, seeing others radiate the glow of the spirit and the light of Christ, I wanted to find that for my self. Through studies of the scriptures and other inspirational books, I was able to realize my dependence on the Lord and all that He has done for me. I finally felt alive. I have been filled with the light of Christ and the desire to bring all others into the Gospel that they might feel what I have felt.

How I live my faith

Right now I am just a member. I will be serving a mission to help spread the gospel, but what I do now is just being an example. I work on a plant where swearing is prevalent and so is smoking and vulgar, degrading topics. I try to be an example by not participating in these activities and by making correct choices.
