Hi I'm George

I am a runner and a father. I love Montana and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is George. I love living in gorgeous Montana. I work as a Finance Administrator at the State. I have a great job and I work with great people. I love to run and workout. I run marathons and trails. I also love working with youth. I am the father of five great kids and we have nine wonderful grand children. I have a wonderful wife. I have two terrific daughters and three sons. All our kids are college educated. Our two daughters are the oldest and are a great pride to me. They are great moms and have their degrees. I like hiking and the outdoors. I have been active in scouting most of my life. I am an Eagle as are our three sons. My family is my greatest joy. I guess you can say I am a happy guy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints- the Mormons. I love the church because it is centered on the Lord Jesus Christ and the family. It teaches me that families are forever as are marriages. The church is the glue that keeps our family together. It treats each member of the family as sacred equals. I love the church because it teaches us to hang on to our youth in these troubled times. It teaches us that we have agency – the freedom to choose. It also teaches us that there are consequences to our choices and actions - so we are encouraged to choose prayerfully and wisely. I love the church because it teaches me to try to be a better husband and parent. It teaches us to follow the example of the Savior in loving and helping our neighbors and community. The church also has a wonderful health code called the Word of Wisdom. This helps me as an athlete and also to enjoy great health and strength. I eat healthy foods and do not smoke or drink or take any harmful substances into my body. I love the church because it teaches me that our Heavenly Father and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ love me and have not left me alone in this world that is filled with good as well as evil. One of the greatest reasons I love the church is because it plainly teaches that the Lord has not left us alone. He has given us modern day prophets and revelation that continues today. We worship God the eternal Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The living prophet teaches us what the Lord would want us to know and to do to be happy and live with our Heavenly parents eternally. I love knowing that the Lord has restored true priesthood power to the world and that it blesses us.

How I live my faith

I love my wife and through true priesthood authority from God, I am married to her for time and all eternity and our children are sealed to us forever. I love knowing that the family is eternal and the happiness this knowledge gives me. I also love the church because since childhood it has taught me to pray. I feel the spirit of the Lord when I pray and study the scriptures. It gives me guidance and peace to follow the spirit of the Lord in all my doings. As a member of this wonderful Christian faith, I have found peace and joy. I cannot imagine my life without it. I was born of wonderful parents who taught me the precious importance of loving and forgiving others as well as myself. I know when I make mistakes that I can be forgiven through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I know there is life after death. This life is short but eternity is never ending. My parents have both passed on to the next life but I feel their love each day and know that I will be with them eternally. Because of the simple and pure teachings of the church I know who I am, that I lived in a pre-existence before this life as a spiritual child of Heavenly parents. I know why I am here in this earth life and I know where I am going after this life. I am completely at peace in this knowledge and my greatest desire is for others to be as happy as I am.
