Hi I'm Richard

I grew up in central Illinois. I am a pharmacist. I love to do woodworking projects in my sparetime. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a pharmacist at a local hospital and enjoy being able to be interactive with physicians and nurses to provide optimal to care to my patients. At home my wife and I have 5 children. Two of them are twin girls (fraternal). I like doing home improvement projects and improving my woodworking skills. I also like to read and spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church before I was born, so I was raised in a home where the teachings of this church were the norm. Don't worry, I wasn't brainwashed or anything, we were always given the ability to decide for ourselves whether we would go to church and it's activities. I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I remember it very vividly, and regardless of my age I knew for myself at that time that I wanted to be baptized, if for other reason than to follow the example of my older siblings. As I continued to grow and mature, I began to scrutinized the church's doctrines and standards. I consistently found that I was happier in my life when I was following the guidance of church leaders (both general and local leaders). In my teenage years the church, and more importantly Jesus Christ was a constant that I could rely on, when fads, cliques, and friends changed around me. As an adult, I enjoy playing an active part in the programs of the church whether it's contributing, organizing, or just attending. I love Jesus Christ and I firmly believe this is His church.

How I live my faith

At church, I am the Elders quorum president. Basically I help other men who hold the priesthood to learn more how to come closer to Christ and help them find opportunities to serve others. At home I try to regularly spend time with my children and wife in meaningful activity. Every Monday night we have a family night that is dedicated for religious discussion and games without other distractions. Daily, we try to pray and read scriptures as a family when we can find the time between work, school, and sports schedules. We maintain an active lifestyle and try to be as healthy as we can, because we are grateful for the lives God has given to us. Whether it is at home, church, or at work, I enjoy giving service to others and try to find ways I can be a help to those around me. Christ gave his life in service to those around him and to us, so I have a resposibility to help others when I can as well.
