Hi I'm Mike Perry

I played drums in an Indie Rock Band. I want to be a paramedic and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love listening to, creating, practicing, and recording music. I really enjoy walking through parks and other similar places and noticing the trees, wind, and sunlight. I like to create things, especially things that would convenience my life, or make a particular task easier to accomplish, one time I made a piano stand out of wood. I'm known to eat right before going to sleep, and I'm told that is bad for my health, but I still do it. I love having a good friend who has my back and will support me through thick and thin. I love dogs, but I do not like mangy saliva all over my hands after I pet them. In school I am studying how to be a paramedic, I graduated from a fire and rescue academy with firefighter certification and EMT certification. My left foot is a half U.S. size bigger than my right foot.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet of God, who was called of God and given His authority to perform saving ordinances and to receive revelation on behalf of the world. I know that the evidence given through Joseph Smith, namely 'The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ" is truth, like a bright white spot standing apart from an ocean of gray and mischief. I was baptized when I was eight years old, but have since learned of the truth in the LDS church for myself in recently coming back to the fold.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve as a Full-Time Missionary working with the members of an LDS group in New York City. I help others understand who Jesus Christ is, and His pattern for working with people in their lives, to help them overcome weaknesses and struggles.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

When Hurricane Sandy hit New York City, water and waves flooded thousands of homes in the Rockaways. They say millions of people were without power for many weeks. I remember one particular house we came to, it was the morning after the storm, and we pulled up in a sedan with 5 missionaries in it, and http://vimeo.com/53357089 Show more Show less
