Hi I'm Carrin Holsonbake

I grew up in Bakersfield, Ca. I am a Computer Tech, Mom and Grandmother, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a part member family. My mom was a member, my father was not. We had good home teachers but I always longed to have the priesthood in my home. When I was around 17 I gained my own testimony. I dated a non-member for awhile but had a dream once that I was in church all alone with my children. I decided then that I wanted a Temple marriage. I married my boyfriend when he returned from his mission in the Temple. That was the happiest day of my life. The peace I felt there in indescribable. I gave birth to 4 beautiful children. We later adopted a sibling group of three. It was on of the hardest and most rewarding experiences. We still experience many ups and downs and our family is a work in progress. My eldest 2 children have married in the Temple and I am now a grandmother. Being a grandmother is definitely the most rewarding experience ever. I am grateful for Temples and for families.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I can't imagine living in the world without the gospel and without the knowledge of eternal families. It keeps me going through all the hardship in the life. I have a strong testimony of the Savior and of the restoration. I know that God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. I know that we are blessed when we keep the commandments. I have tested it for myself. I absolutely love the Temple, I feel peace there. I gain strength there. The knowledge that I am sealed to my husband and children forever brings me so much comfort. Life is hard, living the gospel is not, it brings me peace and comfort in a world of so much strife. The gospel is true, the Book of Mormon is a second witness of Christ written for us in our day. It goes hand in hand with the bible to witness of our Savior Jesus Christ. We lived before we came here, we are here to gain knowledge, to be tested to prove ourselves and we can live with our Father in Heaven again and our families. The gospel brings me joy.

How I live my faith

I've worked with the youth in the Church. Children have such a sweet spirit and they have so much faith. I also visit sisters in the church and organize and keep track of who visits who. We have a great support system and our Ward is like a family. I learn so much from others and they have been there to help me in my time of need. I enjoy helping and serving others, sometimes I am the one blessed not those I serve.
