Hi I'm Lydia Huff

I am married, retired from Civil Service and the Boeing Co. with two children and 7 grandchildren and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. My husband and I are both retired. I retired from both the federal government and the Boeing Company. I love to swim, cook and read. I also enjoy fishing with my husband, my twin brother and my mom. One of my favorite things to do is spend time with my children and grandchildren. My 7 grandchildren love to spend the night, where we watch movies, act out stories from the scriptures, play games, and turn the inside of the house into a big tent. I spend time with my parents as well and help them as much as they will allow. I also teach seminary to high school students each morning. It is like a Sunday school class that helps us start our day studying the scriptures, learning more about our savior and what we need to do to have eternal life. I love these great young people and pray they can stay strong and on the righteous path in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was seeking something in my life, I wasn't even sure at the time what I was searching for. I just knew that my life wasn't complete. I met a woman who shared her love of our Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. Through her testimony I could tell that she had a personal relationship with them that I wanted for myself. I knew that was what I was missing in my life. I wanted to know my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. I started going to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where I felt stirrings deep inside my soul. I knew that if I prayed in faith and lived the lord's commandments and followed the council or our leaders and teachers that I would find the truth. It did not take long to learn for myself that my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ knew me and loved me and that they had been waiting on me to just open my heart to them. It has been life changing to be part of the Lord's kingdom here on earth. I feel of their love and guidance in my life, I have a reason and direction for my life and I have finally found the peace and joy I have sought after all of my life. It is wonderful to know where I came from, why I am here and where I am going.

How I live my faith

I grew up as a Baptist. I went to bible school every summer and Sunday school and church every Sunday. But I never knew why I was here, what I was suppose to do while I was here, and where I was going. I know the Bible is the word of God and I love the words of the Old and New Testaments. I have learned much from the prophets of old. In my search for a relationship with my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ I have learned that the Lord restored His Church to the earth once more just as the primitive church was established during the days of the New Testament times. There are Prophets and Apostles on earth once more with the power and authority of God through his Holy Priesthood along with restored doctrine that goes hand in hand with the Holy Bible to help us to know Heavenly Father's plan of happiness for us. It isn't a church just for Sunday worship. It is being privileged to be one of his disciples. To learn of Him, my Savior, my example in life and to strive the rest of my life to be more like him so that I may one day return to live with him again.
