Hi I'm Lara

I'm a wife, a mother, a ballet teacher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a big, bearded husband who makes me laugh every day and never wants to do the dishes. We're new parents to an adorable baby boy who has completely stolen our hearts. I love to go grocery shopping, read historical fiction, learn about personal finance and plan our next vacation. I also love ballet. I spent my first three years of college as a ballet major, but eventually switched to finance. I've worked at several banks and now I stay home with my son and teach ballet classes at a local dance studio. My parents divorced when I was young and each remarried shortly thereafter. I have a mom, a step-dad, a dad, a step-mom, a sister, three step-sisters and a step-brother. My family isn't perfect, but my experience has shaped me into the person I am and I am thankful.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I honestly believe that this is Christ's church on the earth today. I believe the truth was revealed to Joseph Smith and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know my Heavenly Father knows me, loves me and has a plan for me. He hears and answers my prayers. I feel the companionship and comfort of the Holy Ghost when I am doing what is right and I'm thankful for that guidance in my everyday life.

How I live my faith

Each week I attend my church meetings where I work with the children of my congregation. It is a joy to spend time with them and help teach them the gospel. I am continually humbled by their simple faith and I love to hear and sing the beautiful children's music with them. Outside of Sunday church meetings, I live my faith by praying daily and looking for ways to serve others. I know I am the happiest when I look beyond myself and try to help my family, friends, neighbors or others in need.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

YES!! And it is one of my favorite things about the gospel. I am so grateful that my husband and I were able to be sealed together in the temple when we were married. It is so comforting to know that we will always be together and now our son will be with us too. I love my family so much, I can't imagine being away from them. Show more Show less
