Hi I'm Kelsey

I'm from the green state of Oregon, I'm married to the love of my life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I first attended BYU-Idaho in 2009, not being a member of the church, and was baptized 7 months later. I married my wonderful husband, David, on September 4th, 2010. We were later sealed in the Idaho Falls temple in May. I have bowled since I was 4 years old and I love it with a passion. I have a Bachelors degree in Marriage & Family Studies. I enjoy spending time with the ones that I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know within my heart and soul that this church is true and it blesses my life every single day. I took the time to pray, seek, and listen in order to find my answer to whether or not it is true, and I found that answer to be yes. When I was just 10 years old, I decided I wouldn't date until I was 16. I met my best friend two years later and went to girl's camp with her during her 4th and 5th year. I even attended seminary with her my senior year of high school. Then I came to BYU-Idaho with my best friend, still not a member of the church, when I was 18 years old. I attended church every Sunday, read the scriptures, took missionary discussions, and prayed every night. It took 7 long months, but eventually, in the middle of confusion and hopelessness, I received my answer in the most unexpected way. In that moment the Holy Ghost manifested unto me that everything I had been surrounded by was full of truth and the light of Christ. It was then that I knew I was going to be baptized and that it was one of the best decisions I would make in my lifetime. I continue to live the Lord's gospel because it brings me so much happiness, peace and joy. I continue to follow His word because I am constantly blessed when I do, and I know my family can be together forever. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying every day personally and with my husband, attending church every Sunday, reading the scriptures, serving others around me, and trying to spread the gospel to those who need it in their lives. I also make an effort to attend the temple, pay tithing and do family history work. I strive to keep the Lord's commandments. I make it a goal to keep my home a safe environment where the Spirit is present. My testimony continues to grow day by day as I witness the blessings that have come into my life because of my Heavenly Father and I plan on continuing to live His gospel for the rest of my life.
