Hi I'm Taylor

I love my family and my friends, I'm a son, a brother, a student, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Taylor, and I am the son of Kim and Tim. I was born in Provo, Utah while both my parents were attending Brigham Young University. Since then, I've gained a younger brother and two little sisters as we've moved around the country, living in California, Florida, and Massachusetts before finally settling down in Minnesota. During High School, I was involved in several academic and musical organizations. I began attending Brigham Young University in 2013 and during my first semester, I received a call to serve a mission in Mexico City for two years. My time in Mexico was one of the most challenging experiences of my life, but during my service I fell in love with the people, food, and culture of Mexico, as well as gaining a much more mature understanding of the Gospel. Since returning, I have returned to BYU and am pursuing degrees in Psychology and Spanish. Life continues to be a challenge sometimes, but with confidence I can say that I have continued to grow my testimony and learn from the hard parts of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that all of the happiness in my life stems from the teachings of the Church and I want to keep that happiness in my life. Being part of this faith has helped me so much to understand who I am and why things are the way they are. It has kept me going in the darkest moments of my life and I am so happy to know that that knowledge can always be with me. I do my best day by day to become a better person and the things that I have learned from the Church have helped me understand and achieve that goal.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily by being a good example of the believers of the true gospel of Christ. When I was in High School, I attended my early morning seminary class every day so that I could receive daily religious instruction and I followed the teachings that I was taught there. I stay away from any kind of substance that is harmful to m body, such as alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs. I try to avoid any kind of unclean conduct including not using foul language, staying away from pornography, and making sure to not put myself in any situation that would compromise these morals. By following these commandments that the Lord has given us, I show my Heavenly Father that I love him and that honor him.

Are Mormons Christians?

Taylor
Though we usually go by the moniker 'the Mormon church', the official name of our church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Just looking at our name, it would be crazy if we weren't Christians! It is important to note that although we believe in the Book of Mormon, we still believe that the Bible is the word of God and that Christ is still the central figure of the Book of Mormon.
