Hi I'm Jessie

I'm addicted to the written word. I have alopecia areata. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm addicted to the written word, anything from poetry to novels, and I love everything about books, the smell, the feel, and the stories they hold. My plan is to become a librarian and write for fun in my spare time. I also enjoy science and learning about how the world works, especially in regards to genetics. I'm a big fan of science fiction and fantasy, and I love watching movies, especially ones with lots of action. I'm a romantic at heart, and someday I hope to find my Mr. Darcy and get married. I have an auto immune disorder called alopecia areata, which makes my hair fall out. I'm still a little self-conscious about it, but I've come to terms with the fact that I may never have a full head of hair again. I love to laugh and love spending time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of this church, and I grew up learning the doctrine. During my teenage years, I began to question whether or not I really believed what I had learned, so I prayed and studied to find out for myself. I know this is Christ's church, restored to the earth through Joseph Smith. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, written by prophets who lived in the ancient Americas. I know this for myself because I prayed to God and received an answer.

How I live my faith

I play the piano and lead the music in my ward when I'm asked. I look for opportunities to serve in the community and try to help out where I can. I recently returned from serving a mission for the LDS church in Kentucky for eighteen months. As a missionary, I taught others about Jesus Christ and help them to strengthen their faith in Him. I'm currently teaching a Sunday school class in my young single adult ward.
