Hi I'm Elder Travis Goldrup

I am a Missionary, I am from Maine, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have lived in Maine my whole life, and I love it there. I am now serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I am laboring in the Nevada, Las Vegas Mission. I have a strong testimony of the church and I have seen the many blessings that come from serving my Heavenly Father. I have always been a member of the church, but hardly any of my friends were. It gave me an opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ at a young age! I went to BYU-I for a year and had a great time there, I plan to return following my mission. I love sports, especially basketball!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. Being a Mormon has brought me so much happiness and joy into my life. I could not imagine where I would be if this church wasn't in my life and I didn't know the eternal perspective of this life. Living the teachings of this church brings a spirit into my life that others can see. Since leaving for school and leaving my home and friends they have told me that it just "feels" different without me there. I wouldn't be serving the Lord, for two years of my life, if I didn't know with a surety that this is the true gospel and that Christ leads it.

How I live my faith

Coming from a society where being Mormon is not the norm makes me have a desire to live the gospel to the best of my abilities. My friends know what I believe to be true, thus I have to live the gospel to show what our gospel entails. If I swear, drink, or do anything that is "socially" acceptable then they would call me out on it. As I read the scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father, His spirit is present in my life and my community can see it. As a missionary for the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints I am constantly being looked at funny and watched! I love it, it holds me to the Lord's standard.
