Hi I'm Sh'Nell

I grew up in Washington State, U.S.A. I'm a mother of 4 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 4 children and a wife to a very patient and loving man. I graduated from BYU and continue to learn through reading. I love to read, especially non-fiction books. I'm interested in learning and trying to live a healthy and active life. I love music, listening and participating. I play the violin, a little, and the piano, and I like to sing with my family. I'm still trying to find the proper balance between time spent on enriching myself and being a dedicated wife and mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm an independent and strong willed spirit daughter of God who likes to learn by experience. Toward the end of my teenage years, I felt compelled to search my soul and decide which direction I wanted my life to go. Just before graduating from high school, I received my own testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that Heavenly Father is very much aware of me and wants to help me with challenges, trials, and accomplishments. Since that time, I have been committed to keeping the commandments fully and striving to be worthy to enter the Temple. While attending BYU in Provo I met and married my husband in the Logan LDS Temple. I take those covenants seriously and love the power I receive as I attend the Temple. We have 4 beautiful children. The responsibility of being a mother is great and is the greatest challenge I've yet faced! I am 100% confident that it is my calling in life and that my children are the means of my obtaining eternal life. They are excellent teachers of patience, faith, kindness, love, forgiveness, purity, and happiness. My testimony is that I know and love the gospel of Jesus Christ! I know that as long as we follow the prophet, currently Thomas S. Monson, read our scriptures, say our prayers, and strive to live the commandments, we will be happy. Challenges and trials will always be a part of life and help us to overcome our weaknesses and to grow stronger in our faith. I have a testimony of the Temple and the blessings we recieve as we faithfully attend. I know the Holy Ghost can be our constant companion and that He helps us to stay on the straight and narrow path that leads us back to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I currently work with the young children in my ward, ages 18 months to 3 years. We teach them about Jesus and sharing and kindness and make it possible for their parents to attend their classes without the interruption of young children. It is a rewarding and fun job to have, since I've had 3 children already attend this class. As a mother, I'm very much aware that my children are always watching me. I don't believe there is a grey area in the gospel. To me, things are either right or wrong, when confirmed by the Spirit. I try to just focus on our family because all families are guided in the way they need it and we are all on different parts of the path back to Heavenly Father. I also love the opportunity I have to friendship and care for 2 specific ladies in my ward. I know that Heavenly Father guides the leaders in our ward to help make the assignments and I have been blessed as I have given and recieved service. My hope is that others will want to know more about Jesus because they see me trying to follow Him and live His teachings.
