Hi I'm Mark "Elder Guapo" Lomonte

There's a time to dance. That time is now.

About Me

I grew up on the east coast of the US. I was born into the church, but sometime within the early years of my life my family went inactive. When I was around 11, I started to gain some interest in the church I had fuzzy memories of. I was then baptized soon after I turned 12, and my sister and I proved to be a segue for the rest of my family to become active again. My father, who had never baptized, began to grow more and more fond of the church. He was baptized in September of 2010. About a year later, our family was sealed for eternity in the Boston, Massachusetts temple. I am currently serving a mission in the California Fresno Mission, and I am absolutely loving everything about it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's true church on earth. It's as simple as that: a desire for truth.

How I live my faith

In my town, there were very few Mormon youth. There were actually only a handful at my school. I think that the key to staying faithful is to surround yourself with friends who honor and respect your standards, and I have found a group of friends that do just that. They may not be members themselves, but they kept me in check and many actually had the same or similar standards as me.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Mark "Elder Guapo" Lomonte
Ephesians 4:11-13 states that Jesus Christ called (among others) apostles until "we all come to a unity of the faith." It's as simple as that. Apostles are meant to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and to perfect the saints. Show more Show less
