Hi I'm Lana Poppleton!

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My dad once taught me that “fences are made for two types of people; those with keys and those with fence jumping abilities. And we have fence jumping abilities so we’re allowed in!” With that lesson in mind, I became a TV star at age 5. My dad would pay us a dollar every time we made it on TV at a professional golf tournament. So, being the determined 5 year old that I was, I climbed my way over the fence and onto the course. I had a good chat with the golfer until the security guards started gathering and searching the audience for the parent. My dad stood there laughing as he got the whole thing on video! Not only did I inherit my free spirit from my dad but he also showed me how to laugh and enjoy every moment in this short life. I love Family Vacations. The places we visit are awesome, but the time I spend laughing and fighting with my siblings in the back of a stuffy car… priceless! Family vacations author some of my favorite memories with my family. I started student teaching a 2nd grade class before my mission. Despite the late nights, early mornings, and hardest work of my life, nothing beats playing tag at recess with a bunch of kids who treat you like a celebrity! I could be happy for the rest of my life as a 2nd gr teacher. I love so many things... I love the sun, horseback riding, surfing, dancing, street performing, jumping on the trampoline with my dad, traveling the world, biking through the city, and getting lost in the Book of Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has brought me indescribable joy in my life. The Atonement of Jesus Christ was the most powerful thing that ever happened on this world and by being a member of this church, I can take advantage of his infinite sacrifice by repenting and in turn being forgiven of my sins. And the feeling that God has forgiven me is the most beautiful feeling.

How I live my faith

All of these things I love and everything that makes me happy comes from God. He’s my Heavenly Father who loves me and has blessed me with countless things that make me happy. I love my family more than anything and the thought of leaving them for 18 months brought me a lot of tears. But the thought of all the people in the world who don’t have a family or a place they belong breaks my heart even more. That’s why I’m on a mission right now teaching God's children in Cleveland Ohio about how they can know their Father in Heaven and return to dwell in His kingdom. Everybody deserves to belong somewhere and feel loved.
