Hi I'm Donae

I am married to the love of my life, we have two adorable kids who try our patience and make us smile every day. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have two adorable kids who try my patience and make me smile in the same breath every day. I adore my husband who loves me no matter what. I have a firm testimony that Jesus is my savior and that my Heavenly Father answers my prayers daily. I know that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to, as long as it is for the greater good. When I was 5 I decided my career and have stuck to it, because I love Dance! I absolutely love teaching my children at home, watching them grow daily! they amaze me in every way! I love being the reason why they are getting so darn smart! I always have and always will love the ocean, learning everything about it and what's in it especially sharks. I absolutely love to sew, turn old things into new ones, craft things, and am learning to somewhat enjoy cooking... at least I can cook now LOL. I am quite talented at baking excellent cookies :) While it seems mundane most days I truly am living my dream, teaching Dance and being a Homeschooling and crafty Mommy :)

Why I am a Mormon

It's simple for me, I have always known since I was a child that this was the true church. The older I got, the more I learned at church and at school, it all just makes sense to me. When I got to college and studied the geological properties of this earth, it strengthened my belief even more that everything I had been taught is true. I have had plenty of times when my faith has been tried, many an excuse to give up, yet I know that this is the one thing in my life that can get me through anything. My parents divorced when I was young, my brother died when I was a pre-teen, and that is just the beginning of the many things I have gone through. Each of these difficult things life has handed me has given me the opportunity to choose: am I going to give up, or am I going to hold onto what I know to be true with the faith that it will get me through anything? Despite my many struggles, I have always chosen to hold strong to my beliefs, knowing that it is the only way through the terrible tragedies and every day struggles we face in life. I know that if I wasn't a Mormon, I wouldn't have made it through my struggles. If I didn't have this religion to rely on, my life would be miserable, because I wouldn't have had the motivation to make positive choices for myself. I feel comforted in knowing that my faith has given me a firm foundation to build my life, and a moral compass that keeps me, and now my children, moving in the right direction.

How I live my faith

I have the privilege of teaching 5 to 6 year old's in Sunday School for 45 minutes every other Sunday. I am also involved in a Christian homeschooling co-op in my community, a social network of parents from all denominations that believe in Christ and in teaching our children about him.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I see evidence of a Heavenly Father all around me, you just have to be willing to look for it. one of the most important evidences of God to me that I ponder on a daily basis are my feelings of love for my family. How could they simply be chemical reactions in our body? there must be so much more to it than that. I am not a scientist, but I have studied the earth enough to see the evidence that it was not created by accident, there must be a God to have made everything work out so perfectly. In times of tragedy people often think "where is God now?" I too have had these moments in my life, when I reminded myself that he was right by my side, hoping I would trust in his plan for me and believe in him rather than lose hope. I have been blessed in countless ways for leaning on him instead of doubting his existence. Show more Show less
