Hi I'm Laurie

I'm a born and raised Cornhusker. I love sports and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to bake, craft, decorate, and watch sports. I was a cheerleader for seven years, including a year in college. I love my Savior, family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child, I grew up in the church my parents belonged to; I always felt like a spiritual bench-warmer, as I had no real participation in the church, its beliefs, or with its members. After leaving for college, I wanted to find a church where I felt at home, could be active in, and understood and agreed with all of the church's beliefs. As a sports fanatic, I found my answer through Jimmer Fredette and BYU's run in NCAA Men's basketball tournament. I knew nothing about BYU and out of curiosity, looked up the university's website. It was there Heavenly Father planted the seed of investigation and I finally found all the answers to my questions. I know with all my heart, this Church is the church I was meant to be a member of and Jesus Christ is my savior. I love this Church and all of its members because we are all brothers and sisters of our Heavenly Father. This journey here will not always be easy, but with faith in Jesus Christ and hope in Heavenly Father's plan for us, we will always make it through whatever tribulation or affliction that stands in our way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through going to Church weekly, serving as Second Counselor in the Church's women's group, lessons and activities with friends, reading my Scriptures regularly, and through the many decorative reminders in my apartment.
