Hi I'm Wanda

I am wife of 39 years, a mother of 7 children & a grandmother of 7. I work as a special education teacher. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite time of the week is Sunday dinner when all the members of our immediate family that can, come for dinner and games. Six of our seven children live close by. We love spending time with them. My husband loves to play with our grandchildren. My work in special education is in an online school. I work to support students and families who are attempting to receive their education at home through online instruction. I teach professional development courses in Restorative Practices, Honoring Diversity, and Special Education teacher preparation. I also teach parenting classes at schools and churches in our community. I love to cook, sew, hike, and travel.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church since I was baptized when I was eight years old. When I was a teenager I prayed to know if the church was the true church of Jesus Christ. I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was the true word of God, translated by the prophet Joseph Smith. The answer came clearly to me with a warmth in my heart and a peaceful feeling in my mind. I continued to have experiences at church and in my life that gave me additional positive spiritual confirmations that indeed this was the true church of Jesus Christ and that He was my Savior, who died for me. I was married for time and all eternity in my early twenties and started a family. The abiding love that I have for my husband and my children is deepened by understanding the family as the basic unit of God's plan for all his children throughout eternity. With all my heart and soul I desire to live worthy to be with my family forever. Within the framework of the gospel of Jesus Christ, my family is the most important thing in my life. My testimony of Jesus Christ and his gospel fuels my love of life. The hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ ignites my optimistic outlook. I am so grateful to know what the Lords wants me to know, so I can do what He wants me to do in my life. I believe that the best way I can follow my Savior is by truly loving others. I attempt to do this everyday by being kind to everyone and serving those I can. Kindness doesn't always take a lot of time. It can be as simple as noticing others and acknowledging them with a positive comment. Loving others brings joy to my heart.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life I have had many different opportunities to serve in the church. I have loved my teaching assignments with children, teenage girls and adults. Currently I work with the teachers at church to help them improve their teaching skills. I also serve as a choir director. Working with music is a real joy for me. I love music. One of the special things that I enjoy doing is visiting other women in our congregation. Through our association, over the years, we have developed deep friendships as we share our lives with each other. We express our love for each other through service.
