Hi I'm Lauren Acebedo

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 30 yrs. old and married to my wonderful husband of 8 years, Gabriel. We enjoy Nascar and hanging out with the kids and look forward to Wednesdays when we babysit Gabe's 2 grandkids! We also like taking long drives to anywhere and nowhere at all ;) It really doesn't matter where we go or what we do, we just love being together whenever we can!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Catholic, attended a private Catholic school, but never really could ever get over the fact that when my parents divorced it was as if we no longer exsisted. The Catholic church does not believe in divorce and there was no real support for my mother or us kids so we just stopped going to church all together. I always had the faith though. I met my husband when I was 22, he was raised Catholic also but converted some 20 yrs prior. We talked about how and why he converted but he never preached to me that I "had" to become a member. It was always my decision and like I said, I always had the faith. After taking the lessons from the missionaries and seeing the way my husband and other members conducted themselves it was a no brainer, really, becoming a Mormom was the only thing that made any real sense to me in a very long time. That was 4 yrs ago. I love this Church, and I am proud to say that I am a Mormon and I know this Church is true!

How I live my faith

I think it is important to be compassionate and understanding. I have been through some horribly rough times and done things that a lot of people don't always survive to tell about and the closest people to me have shut me out even still, so I try not to judge others but to help when I can, some people just need that positive influence in their life. It is possible to be supportive without encouraging and condoning certain behaviors. I truly believe you get out what you put in and if you are good to people even when they may have not been so good to you, you will receive the blessings that are coming to you! I have.
