Hi I'm Lindsey

I live in Montana where I work full time, play with the local symphony orchestra and make jewelry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and studied technical writing at Utah State University, where I met and married my husband. We now live in Montana with our two beautiful children. I work full time in a job I love, play violin in the local symphony, and make and sell jewelry whenever I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS Church and was surrounded by faithful friends and family members. It was really easy just to go along with everything and do things by rote; however, I decided that I needed to develop my own testimony if it was to mean anything in the long run. I decided to heed Moroni's advice and to pray in faith. The sweet feeling I got was one that I cherish to this day. The Spirit testified to me that the gospel is true, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and will lead us to Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

As a parent, being a Mormon gives me a great framework in which to raise my children. When my children ask me hard questions I have answers and examples right in the Book of Mormon. My children can follow the examples of their scripture 'heroes' and decided to choose what is right, even if it's not the popular thing to do. I try to live my life as an example for my children, and doing so bolsters my own faith in my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Lindsey
The Word of Wisdom is a little like keeping Kosher. We don't drink any alcohol, coffee, or caffeinated tea. We don't smoke cigarettes or cigars or do any illegal drugs. We are also strongly encouraged to eat meat only sparingly and eat fruits, grains, and vegetables in their proper seasons. This keeps our bodies and minds healthy and strong. We are also promised spiritual blessing if we follow the Word of Wisdom. Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Lindsey
After Christ visited his disciples after his resurrection, He came to the Americas to visit the people here. These were the 'other sheep' he spoke of in John 10:16. Christ had many believers on the American continent and they had been faithfully watching for the signs of His birth and awaited His ministry. They had organized the church according to the records their ancestors had brought with them from the Old World. They were performing baptisms and sacrifices according to the Law of Moses, and looked forward to the day that the Law of Moses would be fulfilled. When Christ did come to them, they gathered round to be taught and edified. Christ taught His disciples on this continent as he had on the other, and gathered the children to him for special blessings before once again ascending to Heaven. Show more Show less
