Hi I'm Rachael

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Oregon. I am married, have 3 beautiful children and freelance from home as a graphic designer.

About Me

I grew up in rural Eastern Oregon, the oldest of 6 kids. My parents taught me from an early age about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through out my life I felt the holy ghost testify to me in my heart and mind of the love of my Savior and this has brought me peace and happiness. Some people might think that there are too many rules and restrictions to living our faith, but I have never felt this was so. If any thing it helped me stay out of trouble when I was young and be a more productive member of society. I am married and now have 3 beautiful children and am grateful for the happiness that find in raising children and trying to live as an honest, decent person. I am also blessed to have a great relationships with my parents, siblings and extended family. Part of the reason why these relationships are so strong is because we are brought closer together by our mutual understanding and worship of our Savior Jesus Christ, who encourages us to work through relationships and be kind and have charity for one another. I feel like my life is rich and full.

Why I am a Mormon

I think a lot of people don't think Mormons are Christians. I want people to know that I know that Jesus Christ Lives, that he is my personal Savior. I know that he and God the Father appeared to Joseph Smith when he was a boy and that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be the most correct church on the Earth, with a living prophet that leads by divine guidance. I also believe the bible to be the word of God. I know that the atonement of Christ is real, I have felt its healing power in my own life. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins, my sorrows, and all my pain. I am grateful for the opportunity I have to repent, that through his grace my family will be able to return to live with him. I am a Mormon, and I am a Christian.

How I live my faith

My religion and beliefs are very personal and private to me. So it is sometimes hard for me to reach out and talk to others about my faith, but I know I have an obligation to share the gospel with others. One of the most important things I try to do on a daily basis is share the gospel with my children and nurture their relationship with Christ, one of the ways we do this is by trying to have daily family scripture study and prayer. I am also actively involved with my church, besides weekly meeting attendance, I currently help organize events for women in our church. In the past I have coached our young women's sports teams and taught Sunday school lessons for children. I also have the opportunity to share a spiritual message once a month to other women in their homes. All these service opportunities help my love for others and my Savior grow.

What is the priesthood?

The Priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. All worthy male members of the Church can receive the priesthood. Without the priesthood important ordinances such as baptism and Sacrament could not be performed. I am grateful to have a husband that holds the priesthood and can bless my life and the lives of my children. Show more Show less
