Hi I'm Jenn

I'm a wife, mother of two, home improvement enthusiast, seeker of truth and lover of life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ever since I was a little kid I knew two things about my future. I would be a full-time wife and mother, and I would get as much education as I could. The realization of those dreams has brought me incredible peace and joy. Aside from being a wife and mother I love to sew, I love to cook and clean, and I love to run in organized races. I love singing, playing the violin and piano and I love to spend time with my husband and children, my family and my in-laws. My husband is an MDPHd student. Life is busy, and work and study are always lurking. We feel like we are living the dream though because the precious moments of being together as a family and watching our children grow are so fulfilling!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born to mormon parents and taught the gospel all my life, I am a mormon only because the spirit has revealed to me that the Book of Mormon is true. I don't know how many times I have read the Book of Mormon, my parents started reading it to me when I was younger than six, and I started reading it on my own when I was eight (I got my own set of scriptures for my eigth birthday). It was not until my mid-teens that I really started to question and seek for my own answers, but I knew long before that from my own study that the Book of Mormon is true. Every time that I start to have doubts and questions, I turn to the Book of Mormon and prayer, and the Lord has never failed to reaffirm to me in small and simple ways that it is true and I need to be faithful, even if I don't have all of the answers to all of my questions.

How I live my faith

The best way to sum up how I live my faith is one word: change. I serve as a teacher once a month. I spend all month preparing for my lesson. I study the manual, the scriptures and modern teachings. I pray and ponder about the topics. I consider how well I am living the principles that I am preparing to teach, and I try to find ways to improve. The more that I learn about Christ and the gospel, the more I find ways that I can change for the better. Over the past several months I have developed a better understanding of the Love that God has for all of us, and I am making changes to allow more of his love into my heart. My favorite part of my church activity are the interactions that I have with other women who have a mother heart. I am so inspired by them as I watch how they love and teach children. I am often reminded of the the Savior and his love and concern for all of God's children, not just those in his immediate circle of disciples. I hope to better emulate him as I learn from the examples of those around me. I know that he lives. I know that he loves the best of us, and the worst of us. I am grateful for his life, love and teachings.
