Hi I'm Charity

I am from Georgia, I am serving a full time mission in the Independence Missouri Visitor's Center for 18 months, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born into the church, and have lived in the same area my whole life. I have completed my Freshman year at Brigham Young University- Idaho, and am now serving a mission at the Independence Missouri Visitor's Center. My major is Elementary Education, because I love to teach and play with children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and I still continue to have faith in God because I have a testimony. I have felt for myself that this church is true. I know that I am a child of God, and that He loves me and all of His children. I know that he sent His son to die for us, and I know that He has restored His true church upon the earth. He gave us Joseph Smith, who was a true prophet of God, and today, we have acting President Nelson. I know that President Nelson is a mouthpiece for God, and that he will fill the role of Prophet perfectly. I miss President Thomas S. Monson dearly, but I know that he is in eternal peace and is with his wife again. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it is another testament of Jesus Christ. Along with the Bible, these scriptures are the most useful tool for spiritual growth and uplifting myself and others. I know that this church is true, and I am so grateful that I have been blessed so greatly that I have had this truth for my entire life. That is why I am serving a mission, so that others can share this great light and strength that I have. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen

How I live my faith

I served as a Primary teacher at my church, and I teach the four year olds. I also sometimes joined the Sister missionaries when they are proselyting or when they have an appointment. Since I am planning on becoming a elementary school teacher in the future, and am a Sister missionary now, these callings are very beneficial for me and my growth, and for others.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We perform baptisms for the dead so that those who died without having been given the opportunity to be baptized into the church of God in this life, can have the opportunity to be baptized by proxy of someone (being worthy) living upon the earth. Those who are being baptized by living members can choose to accept or reject this ordinance. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

I am a missionary, and I can say for a surety, everything missionaries will teach you will be centered on Jesus Christ and His doctrine. This doctrine includes faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. It is our hope that our words will bring the Spirit, and help others return to their Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
