Hi I'm Adam

I am from Michigan. I am an outdoors-man! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I think I have always had a curiosity about God. I have always been fascinated with nature. Growing up, I always loved looking up at the billions of stars on a clear night sky, or walking through the quiet autumn woods on a cool October afternoon. It has always brought me a lot of peace. As I began learning from the missionaries about my relationship with Heavenly Father, my appreciation for the outdoors increased. I have found that the world around me has so much to offer, and it is all because of a loving Heavenly Father who has intricately designed a plan of happiness for me and all of His children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am actually a convert to the church. I started going to church with my dad when I was eleven years old. He wanted to get me involved in the Boy Scouts of America in the church because he knew how great the program was. Synonymous with going to scouts, I also started going to church meetings. I'll admit it was a bit of a shaky start. I did not always go to church on Sundays, but I loved the atmosphere when I did go. Around the time that I was thirteen years old, I met the missionaries. They were "door knocking" in our neighborhood and decided to stop by and say hello. This is when I began learning about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I developed a very strong testimony of the goodness of the church by attending Youth Conferences and mutual activities. The spirit that I felt while investigating was almost overpowering at times. I can remember my first Youth Conference to Kirtland, OH. It was a wonderful, spiritually uplifting opportunity that I will never forget!

How I live my faith

Before I was a member, I went to Boy Scouts in the local church building. As I progressed as an active scouter, I was able to work as a leader of our scouting troop for several years. I still enjoy helping the scouts out as much as I can. My time at school has also influenced my life greatly. During my first semester of school, I served as a door greeter in our church. I was able to meet so many amazing people, and the joy that they showed through church attendance caused me to smile every single Sunday. I was also blessed with the opportunity to serve as a secretary in one of our church meetings. I learned how to be a leader in that particular calling, and how to work with my fellow brothers in Christ to accomplish major tasks. Home teaching (missionary work within the church) has also impacted my life beyond words. As my home teacher has taken time out of his life to help me, I have learned to be more grateful for the people in my life. As a home teacher, I have learned how to care for and show love to others. I have learned to be a guide in the lives of my brothers and sisters and to lead a more Christ-like life. Currently I am serving a mission for the church. I am growing to love everyone that I come into contact with. I just want to share the happiness that this Gospel can bring into our lives as we strive to love one another as Christ loves us.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a scriptual account of the dealings of a people on the American continent thousands of years ago. It is a record of God's dealings with this people and the prophets among them. The Book of Mormon teaces us of the doctrine of Christ and how we can live in happiness now and forever. As I have read the Book of Mormon, pondered what it contains and prayed to my Heavenly Father in search of an answer, He has given me an answer. I have learned for myself that this book of scripture is the word of God and that we can draw closer to Him and our families through it! Show more Show less
