Hi I'm Brian

I'm a Husband, Father, Teacher, Super Nerd, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There are a lot of things that make me, me. Let’s see if I can cover it all for you. I am a man is my early 30s. I am married to my best friend (Who originally though I was a little crazy). I have 3 amazing little daughters - who I feel are growing up way to fast. I teach at the local high school for a living (technology subjects). I am a nerd - but feel totally fine admitting that. I like all things technology. I skateboard, like video games a little too much, and I am generally a happy guy.

Why I am a Mormon

I would say a big part of the reason why I am Mormon is that it makes me happy. I find joy in being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There is so much out there that can drag you down, mess up your life. I know that following the teachings of Jesus Christ bring safety and peace in life. I love that peace - there is nothing like it. I know that when I am doing my best (which is not perfection by the way) that it makes life go better. As I pray, I feel close to God. I know he is there. This gives me a higher sense of meaning in life. The daily tasks of life can get monotonous. Keeping myself connected to heaven though daily prayer and reading the scriptures changes my perspective. It helps me remember what is really important (my family). I am Mormon because it = joy. And really, isn’t that what life is really about?

How I live my faith

The church is a bunch of imperfect people working together to help one another live the gospel. It gives each of us a chance to live what Jesus taught. As we serve one another we change what and who we are. We develop Christ-like abilities and characteristics. These qualities are beneficial though all aspects of our life - not just church time.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

This is an awesome book. I read it every day. It was written - not by Joseph Smith - but by many different prophets. These men recorded their history and their teachings of Jesus Christ. It totally testifies of him. It is a record of the dealings of God with his ancient people on the North American continent. Translated in our day by Joseph Smith. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Try it. As simple as that. You cannot learn anything in life without trying it out. Try to live its teachings. As you do - you will feel peace and happiness in your life. That really is the sign of its truthfulness. Show more Show less
