Hi I'm Spencer Colson

I am a family man, who loves a good project, and breaks more things than he fixes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Family: Love spending time with my two kids and wife, building and planting around the house, and inventing new rules to old games. Work: I deliver IT Clouds. I don't build clouds, instead I work to ensure cloud infrastructure provides real value to my clients. Free time: Years of running have done my knees in, so now I enjoy biking, hiking, movies and working the grill.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I understand who I want to become, who my Savior Jesus Chris is, and what His life means to me. His sacrifices of so many years ago, and the teachings found in his gospel give me endless hope and power to become: - Hope that I can become something more and - Power to put past mistakes behind me - Hope that the family relationships I am building now have eternal meaning and - Power to put them first - Hope that sacrifice has meaning and - Power to make the hard choices - Hope that my life has purpose and - Power to make the most out of time and opportunities I know that the closer I bring my life to my Savior’s, the more my life becomes full. By working to make what He teaches part of my life, my ability to find peace increases. Instead of focusing on who I am, I can see who I can become. Peace in who I am becoming brings me joy.

How I live my faith

Living my faith has meant different things to me at different times, but has always meant giving service. Fortunately service can also be a whole lot of fun... like teaching my son to through a Frisbee, helping my daughter enjoy a good book or sing a song, taking my wife away from the kids (doesn't happen often enough) or giving the extra effort to deliver a project for my clients. I have also found a whole lot of joy serving my Savior more directly by serving through his Church, finding people need help and serving. Showing His love to others is how I try and live my faith.
