Hi I'm Alicia

I grew up in Utah but moved to Maryland where I discovered who I am. I love music. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an ordinary girl who loves life. I was an Irish dancer, lacrosse player, musician, and book worm growing up. I love spending time with my family and friends. As a kid I lived in Utah and at the age of 14 I moved with my parents to Maryland. It was a really tough time for me, but I knew that is where I needed to be. Over time, I came to love living in Maryland. I met some really great people and learned a great deal about myself from that experience. After high school, I attended a church university and studied to be an elementary school teacher. Currently, I am serving a full time mission in the Colorado Springs Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because living the gospel makes me happy. I was born into a family who has always been very strong in the church. Despite being raised in the church, my parents still allowed my siblings and I to choose if we would live the gospel. They taught us correct principles, and then let us decide if we would live those principles. I have never felt forced in any way to be a member of the church. The reason why I have kept being a strong member is because it truly brings me happiness. It has changed my life forever for the better. Living the gospel has truly made my life rich and happy. I know that the church is true. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that through Him, I have been saved and I can continually get better as I follow His teachings. I know that there is a living prophet on the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I am so grateful for the principles it teaches me. I am so grateful for the power of prayer. I know that God hears and answers each of my prayers. I have had too many experiences of having my prayers answered to deny it. I know that God loves me. I know that I am one of His precious daughters. This knowledge has made me so happy and makes me want to become better. I love the gospel. Its true!!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a lot of different ways. First and foremost I try to be an example of what I believe. I try to live like the Savior and to emulate His example. Of course I am not perfect, but I try to do the best I can everyday! I love serving people by looking for little ways that I can make their day better. I have served as a teacher for the 4-5 year old children, on activities committees, and with the youth. I have loved every one of my callings! Even as a Young Adult I have been able to serve and help people in the church. What I have found is that it doesn't matter what your age, everyone is needed in the church. We all need each other to learn, grow, and progress in the gospel.
