Hi I'm Alexis!

I am a senior in college studying to become a registered dietitian. I love food almost as much my new husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a new wife to my awesome, handsome, radical, husband Clint. We lead busy lives as we are both students and both working. We are currently struggling to find the balance in our lives. One of those tricky things in life is finding balance. Balance between spending time doing school work, spending time with each other, going to work, and of course, our time dedicated to the Lord's work. I have a passion for food and for cooking. Obviously. I'm going to school just so I can talk about food all day and get paid for it! My husband doesn't seem to mind that too much! I think life is a really beautiful, messy place and that behind every wise, beautiful person, came a difficult and messy trial. I know that whatever we go through and have gone through works together for our benefit. I am constantly amazed as I meet new people and make new friends to learn what they have gone through. No one is exempt from the trials of life. It's how you handle what you're given that makes all the difference in the world. I can attest to the fact that turning towards God is the BEST route to go!

Why I am a Mormon

I feel incredibly blessed the be fortunate enough to be raised in the gospel of Jesus Christ. My parents have been members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since before I was born so I grew up going to church. I've had the privilege from a young age to learn of my sweet older brother, Jesus Christ, and all that he has done for me. I have learned that he has suffered for my sins and pains so that I don't have to carry those burdens by myself. If you've lived more than a few minutes in the world you know that while it is a beautiful, happy place, it's also a place of pain and suffering. If I can have help in my times of grief, why wouldn't I? Christ wants to ease or sufferings. We just need to turn to him. It doesn't make sense to chose to suffer on our own when Christ is there to lift us up. Building off that, I know in my heart that it is true. I know that we have a prophet to lead and guide us just like in the times of The Bible. We are in just as great of a need now. I need that direction in my life. I know that doing the right things leads us to greater happiness and freedom. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed and asked Heavenly Father of its truthfulness. I know that book is true. I have a testimony of temple work. I am grateful to know that families are a forever bond. I know that this is the true church! What happiness that brings!

How I live my faith

My husband and I have the privilege to greet all who walk in the door to come into our service. This is what we have been called to do at our church meeting. We also love to go to lessons with missionaries to meet new friends who are looking to learn more about our church. My husband and I also attend institute classes at our university to make sure we are always learning more of the gospel. I like to study the scriptures and pray as much as possible. When I do the kinds of things I listed above, I feel happier and more at peace. I feel loved.
